Team Maryland has announced today the signings of Jakes Lynes, Lennie Childs, and Mike Williams to three North American Hockey League organizations. The NAHL is American’s only Tier II Jr. A Hockey League. There are currently twenty teams this year, while expanding to 22 for next season. The NAHL has had a rich tradition of developing players and moving them on to Division I programs and professional hockey. The North American Hockey League, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior A league boasting 20 teams from across the country, prides itself on the social maturity and skill development of student-athletes ages 16-20 with aspirations of advancing to collegiate and/or professional hockey. This year alone 52 players have committed to Division I programs already.

Jake Lynes, Team Maryland’s current leading goal scorer has signed a tender with the Topeka Roadrunners (NAHL). Topeka is currently in first place in the Southern Conference and second overall in the league to Wenatchee with 55 points overall. Lynes, who is in his third year with Team Maryland has endured a very successful tenure with Team Maryland as he lead Team Maryland with points last season with 92. Jake is currently on pace to break that record this year.

Lennie Childs has signed a tender with the Janesville Jets (NAHL). Janesville is currently tied for second place with Marquette with 38 points in the Northern Conference. Childs, a three-year player for the organization, has been the captain and the heart and soul of the program for the past three years. His work ethic and leadership role has produced positive results on the ice and has attracted the attention of many.

Mike Williams, a native of Plano, Texas has signed a tender to play for the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League. Springfield is currently in third place in the Southern Conference. Williams has made his mark on the scoreboard this season producing 26 goals at the mid way mark. He is on pace to break his goal scoring production from last year finishing with 28 goals.
